Should I attend my client’s graduation?”, “Should I accept this gift from my client?”,“ How should I interact with my client on social media, or should I?” “ My Social Work Colleague is dating a minor, what should I do?” " I'm attracted to my client, what should I do?"

Interesting topics makes interesting discussions! The NASW Code of Ethics exists to provide guidance in professional decision making & conduct, but what about the gray areas?! There are many gray areas within the social work practice. Ethical issues related to boundaries are amongst the most challenging topics within the social work profession. Establishing and maintaining boundaries is an important factor in sustaining ethical practice. Given the various roles played and the rate in which the profession is advancing, it is imperative that social workers not only establish but maintain professional and ethical boundaries. This will be an ethics workshop you won't forget!

This fun and interactive workshop will:

  1. Identify the range of boundary issues in the Social Work Profession addressed by NASW Code of Ethics.
  2. Distinguish the difference between boundary crossings & boundary violations.
  3. Examine the gray areas in social work practice & discuss best practice strategies to help establish and maintain ethical boundaries.

"This program is Approved by the National Association of Social Workers (Approval # 886738581-6826) for 3 continuing education contact hours in ethics."
